Default Broken record

http://www.cyberpuck.com/team.php?m=game&id=849344

There appears to be a problem here that is occuring somewhere below the surface, perhaps in STAMINA algos, that is allowing a team icing 1 line that is completely outmatched by the lowest rated players on my team, to shut out the highest scoring team in USA Division 2. Over and over and over and over, people have brought this issue up, and still, this has not been fixed. HOCKEY IS NOT BASKETBALL!!!! Professional hockey teams have to play 19 players every game, 4 lines of forwards, 3 lines of defense. For a forward, 24 minutes in 60 minutes is the extreme upper limit. 30 minutes for a defenseman. 21 and 27 averaged per game is about the highest averaged out over a season that a player can handle. I don't know how many times this will continue popping up, and subsequently be ignored. It's not the fact that I lost the game...it is because I'm playing against a team that should not have had the energy at the end of the game to maintain their lead. I would have had no problem losing the game, once again, it is how I lost that needs to be analyzed. Upsets are good for this game, I wish their were more....the goal of the game should not be to go 34-0 every season with a +300 goal differential. Looking though NHL records, there are few teams with a +100 differential...and that is over an 82 game schedule. If the only people who can be competitive are those who came in on day 1, this game is dead where we stand. There must be a way to integrate new players into the lineups with the better players. The creativity to the game is gone, and the original base of players is all but lost. There must be a way to make this game viable and competitive for anyone who joins from today and into the future, and retain those new players.

Things that have to change:

Goalies need to give up more goals, and those teams need to give up more shots. Bigger teams shouldn't be scoring 10+ goals a game either. No more 57-1 shot games

Individual skills should be proportionally capped, while you can increase your wrist shooting to 500 (god forbid that ever will be an issue with slap shooting or one timers), it won't be as effective if you aren't competent in ALL of your other skills at that level. Killing the spiked builds will somewhat overcome another increasing and insurmountable milestone for new players.

Anything over a 25% shooting is absolutely ridiculous, even 20% is pushing it for all but the best players. If you are playing players who should otherwise be top liners on other teams, they will be less effective as 3rd and 4th liners. Likewise, if you bring in younger players, they will be more effective as 3rd and 4th liners. Slotting them in with better players may also make them more effective.

Teams shouldn't go 31-3, losing should be far less of an issue...one loss for a team right now can be devastating, the best teams rather should be going 22-12

Goal differential for a team should be within 40 goals over 34 games, not more than that. The scoring leaders really shouldn't be getting more than 40 points across the season, 50 should be something special, and 20 points should be a good season for the regular player.

i agree but with teams rated 70+ playing teams that are say 30 or lower in the same division blowouts and teams going 29-1 is going to occur. im not sure if thats the problem or not but maybe we could find some way to put same value teams in the same league

Default Introduce Random Maximum Variable Ratios to the Algos

I agree as well

I can't do the math for this but here is my proposed solution;
we need variable ratios

for the stamina example; the computer generates a random number based on stamina which would cap the minutes the player is able to play
when those minutes elapse, the player's checks are all automatic 1's, no exceptions so if a player has 78 speed and the stamina runs out that is reduced to 1 speed and etcetera

to fix the shots we need an awareness or shot release rating which would be checked against the goalie's vision or agility or whatever

to fix the goals problem, a determination bonus could be added. so all the player's on the losing team would get bonuses either at home or either.

these are just some suggestions

I think there really needs to be a point when you can set your goalie to be pulled in the tactics whether it is 2, 3 or 4 goals in X minutes or if trailing by 1 or 2 goals with Y minutes left in the game

in my humble opinion these fixes would help the game's fun factor as we seem to be losing people due to sheer frustration
